How do I do a cold (hard) reset on the JettCE?

1. Turn the unit off by pressing and holding the
power key for 8 seconds.
2. Press and release the power key again.
3. Press and hold the 1st and 3rd keys in the first
column of the keypad (A & I).

Note: This must be done immediately after releasing
the power button.

How do I do a warm (soft) reset on the JettCE?

Select Start | Programs | Warm Reboot.

The JettCE acts slowly. What can i do?

The unit may be short of program memory or storage
memory. Increase the amount of storage memory through
the System control in the Control Panel. You can also
delete any unnecessary files.

Is the JettCE ready for Bluetooth?

The JettCE does not have an internal Bt card when it
is shipped, however the JettCE is Bt ready. In order
to activate Bt insert a Socket Bluetooth CF card
(www.socketcom.com) in the top Compact Flash slot of
the JettCE.

How do I cold-reboot the system?


Restoring the system on your Allegro restores the
operating system to the factory default settings or
the settings that were in place the last time you
performed the Save System utility function. Any
changes made to the control panel settings and
registry key settings are removed. To restore the
system on your Allegro, complete the following steps:
1. Press the On/Off key and the Shift key at the same
time for 5 - 10 seconds.
2. Release the Shift key and On/Off key, at the same
time, as soon as the Boot Menu appears.
3. Use the Arrows key to select the cold boot option
and press Enter.


How do I establish a first time ActiveSync connection using COM 1 or COM 2?


When establishing a COM 1 or COM 2 connection between
the Allegro and your desktop PC for the first time,
complete the following steps:
1. Attach one end of the serial communication cable
that was included with your Allegro (part number
12446) to the COM 1 or COM 2 port on your desktop PC.
2. Plug the other end of the communication cable into
COM 1 or 2 on the Allegro.
3. Turn on the Allegro.
4. Tap the Start button on your Allegro and select
Settings | Control Panel | Communications Properties.
5. Tap the PC Connection tab. At the bottom if the
screen next to Connect using: is the COM port the
Allegro is set on for an ActiveSync connection.
6. Tap the Change button to access the Change
Connection screen if you are using a different
communication port than the Connect using: port
lists.
7. Tap on the arrow next to the Connect to desktop
using: box to access a drop-down list.

8. Tap on the desired communicator port and baud rate
in the drop-down box, and tap on the OK button.
9. Double-click on the ActiveSync icon on the desktop
PC and Get Connected screen appears.
10. Click on the Next button and the Get Connected:
Checking COM Ports screen appears.
11.A. If using COM 1, the Progress box of the
Checking COM Ports screen says Looking for a Mobile
device & Checking on COM Port 1, double-tap on the PC
Link icon on your Allegro desktop. After tapping the
PC Link icon on the Allegro desktop, a screen that
says Connecting to Host is shown. If you are
unsuccessful in your connection, try again.
11.B. If using COM 2, wait for the Progress box of
the Checking COM Ports screen indicating Looking for
a Mobile device & Checking on COM Port 1 to advance
to Checking on COM Port 2, now double-tap on the PC
Link icon on your Allegro desktop. Once connected, a
connected system tray icon appears in the in the
status box on the Taskbar. If the Allegro disconnects
from the desktop PC, by choice or inadvertently, this
icon disappears, letting you know the Allegro is not
connected to the computer.


How do I reboot the Allegro?


Resetting the Windows CE registry on your Allegro
initiates your operating system to reload. This
process reloads all the drivers on your Allegro. To
reset your Allegro, complete the following steps:
1. Press down and hold the On/Off key for 5 - 10
seconds.
2. Release the On/Off key when the Allegro turns off
and then restarts.
3. Wait for the operating system to load.When the
normal reboot fails, try a cold reboot.



The software application I am running on the Allegro or the operating system on my Allegro is no longer responding. How do I fix this?


Occasionally, software applications or the operating
system may cease to respond, leaving the Allegro in a
state where it cannot be used until the software
application is closed or the operating system is
active again. To check if it is a software
application, or the operating system that is not
responding on your Allegro, complete the following
steps:
1. Press the Task Manager key (BLUE + Start key) on
your Allegro, or by pressing the Alt key and the TAB
right key simultaneously.If the Task Manager window
opens, then the operating system is running and your
application is what has stopped responding.

2. View all running applications from the Task
Manager window.

3. Tap on any applications not responding in the Task
Manager window so it is highlighted.

4. Tap on the End Task button to close the
applications that are not responding. When this
procedure fails, try a reboot.
